Pre-Spring 2025 Collection
Galvan’s Pre-Spring 2025 collection offers a unique blend of minimalist garments and artistic depth, taking inspiration from visual artist Edith Dekyndt and visionary architect Francis Kéré. This collection plays on the brand’s already familiar aesthetic mixed with new propositions.
Embodying the elegance and sophistication of the Galvan woman, the collection follows Galvan’s mission of creating versatile and timeless pieces that can be worn day to night, moving away from the brand’s focus on pure occasionwear.
Stand-out pieces include bomber jackets, flowy wrap dresses and silk skirts. Sequin paillettes also make an appearance in a geometric form, taking inspiration from Dekyndt’s work. The meticulously curated collection, crafted from high-quality and innovative materials such as translucent and layered fabrics, captures a refined clientele who value aesthetics while reflecting the modern woman’s desire for timeless style that makes a bold, yet tasteful statement.
The collection draws on Dekyndt's minimalist aesthetics, prioritizing form and function with an added layer of subtle elegance. Innovative fabrics inspired by the Belgian artist’s use of varied materials challenge traditional fashion norms, incorporating fluidity and movement through flowing, loose-fitting garments that respond gracefully to the wearer's movements. Translucent and layered pieces play with transparency and layers, evoking Dekyndt's fascination with visibility and the ethereal.
Additionally, the collection draws inspiration from Kéré's architectural forms, incorporating structural yet wearable elements. The garments, designed for high functionality with clean, fluid lines, are versatile and can be worn in different situations, enhancing their usability and appeal. Emulating Kéré's vibrant color palette, the pieces reflect his African heritage with colors like ochre, brick, dune and cognac featuring heavily throughout.
Working with craftsmen throughout the line, using ancestral savoir-faire and techniques, Galvan
collaborates with artisans for embroideries, prints, and buttons, echoing Kéré’s commitment to community empowerment and ecological awareness.
