In discussion with Ruth Chapman
Inspiration and #galvanmuse, Ruth Chapman is who we are celebrating today for our #galvanizeyourworld series. Mother, fashion icon and co-founder of Matches Fashion, Ruth is a renowned tastemaker with a sharp yet feminine sense of style. She shares with us how she's spending her days indoors and what she's doing to help make a difference during this time of pandemic.
How are you spending your time these days?
It's important for me that I get dressed right now and out in a little lipstick just to feel normalish whilst isolating and social distancing. That said I’m enjoying more time to read and cook and be with immediate family. And I’m exercising via zoom or YouTube to stay strong and support self employed people as much as I can.
What’s a cause that is important to you?
Right now a cause that’s important to me is the @trusselltrust - the organisation supporting food banks in the uk. They’re horribly short of donations of food and money, and need volunteers to help. They do any amazing job of supporting families in extraordinary circumstances. This is a very challenging time for everyone but particularly those families already struggling.
What has motherhood taught you?
My children have taught me so much in my life and I feel lucky to stay at home with them now and be able to cook with them and share recipes. It feels like a privilege.
